Two Hands Gnarly Dudes Shiraz is nothing short of an exemplary take on Australian Shiraz. This wine opens with plush blackberry, blueberry, and plum, but quickly shifts into an intensely complex display of flavours. Cedar, toast, vanilla, cocoa, mocha, and even some violet come through on this! The finish is of average length, and shows the classic black pepper note of Shiraz, along with a hint of gamey leather, which is unexpected, and very cool. Tannins are on the high side, but they are nicely integrated, not feeling harsh. High alcohol is the final pillar to the Aussie style which gives this wine an assuredly full body.
This is a wine that could be enjoyed any day of the week, any time of year, and as such it’s got a permanent spot on our shelves. Any red meat would be a suitable pairing for this, but grilled lamb is the best choice, either as rack, chop, or burger!
