
This cape blend iscomprised of 39% Pinotage, 30% Cab Sauv, 27% Merlot, and fractional amounts of Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. Pinotage brings its earthy, smoky profile to the nose of this wine, underneath that there are whiffs of blueberry and black currant. On the palate more earthiness appears alongside a dense fruit profile of black cherry, black plum, and raspberry. Baking spices, black pepper, and charred wood show up on the finish. Mellow tannins and a touch of alcohol warmth build on the smokiness of this wine. A nice new-world styled red to go with ribs, brisket, or other BBQ fare.
