This is our icon wine, a Carmenere based red blend from our Marchigüe vineyard. It has a well-balanced tannin structure with a fresh acidity and long persistence, in the nose and its final mouthfeel. It is aged for 18 to 24 months in French barrels, a period in which it enhances its complexity and character. 

Estampa was formed in 2001, with a focus on producing premium, blended wines. LaCruz is their flagship wine showcasing the terroir of the Colchagua Valley. With that in mind, it is made primarily with Carmenere, Chile’s specialty grape, blended with 15% Petit Verdot. Both those grapes are old bordeaux varieties that have little place left at home, so it's pretty cool to see them showing up here together. Combining these historic grapes with blending practices and terroir driven cultivation results in a wine that is certainly old world in style - full bodied, complex, and long on the finish. The Carmenere is coming in dominantly with red plum and raspberry, as well as some green bell pepper. The Petit Verdot elevates this wine with some punchy black fruit, and a firm tannin backbone. Being of 2013 vintage, this bottle is clearly displaying those dried fruit and earthy characteristics that come with age.
