Right bank classified Grand Cru. This is superb Bordeaux, able to drink now, or continue aging for up to ten more years. Rich black fruit flavours mingle with earth, cocoa, cedar, and graphite. The age is revealing baked and dried fruit notes as well as a touch of black olive on the nose. The tannins in this wine are prominent, but softening nicely. You could pair this nicely with leaner steaks like Filet Mignon or Eye of Round. Firm, aged cheeses are another excellent choice if you prefer to focus on the wine.
