Roussanne often shows up as a blending partner in your Rhone Blanc’s, but here it is on its own from the land down under. Roussanne gives a full bodied, oily-textured white, plump with stone fruit and floral notes. Yangarra has treated this with some oak, giving some rich aromas to pair with that texture. On the other hand, the acidity on this is pretty firm, giving some clean lemon peel and an overall feeling of contrast to the body. It’s a nice balance that it strikes, kind of reminiscent of lobster dunked in butter and squeezed with lemon, which would also be a pretty fantastic thing to eat with this.
