UnWined Celebrates 10 Years!

Our Favourites!

Tomorrow is the day we celebrate 10 years!  We can’t wait for our community party to  have everyone here celebrating with us!  It’s going to be  beautiful day out on the patio with beers, spirits, wines, food, and live music.  The celebration starts at 4pm, we’ll see you then!

With a celebration for all of us in mind I wanted to use this as an opportunity to allow all of us that make up the UnWined team to choose a favourite beer to be featured in this month’s pack.

The beer club releases on the third Saturday every month.  There is no sign up, just drop by the store any time were open and pick up a pack!  The price will be between $30 and $35.

Last but not least tonight we’ve got our fifth Wine Workshop event!  We’ll be diving into the presence of floral flavours in wine, tasting a white, rose, and even a red!  If you want to learn more about wine or are simply looking for a fun way to get out on this beautiful Friday evening then click the link below to grab tickets, we’ve got six seats remaining!

Solstice d’Ete, Dieu du Ciel

This is Solstice, this is summer, this is fruity, this beer!

What's better on a hot day than a pint of fruity refreshing beer.

Dieu du Ciel has been my go to brewery since I reached legal drinking age, I was actually doing my homework there after school!

The beer selection at that time wasn't quite that expansive, but they always were consistent in quality.  So cheers to them!

Sour wheat ale with a beautiful bright red color to which blueberries, blackberries and raspberries were added during fermentation. Tangy flavors of wild fruits, raspberry in the lead.

Diverge IPA, Fernie Brew Co

If I wasn't living in the Bow Valley, I would certainly have chosen Fernie, the skiing, the biking, the quaint town, the scenic view and the BEERS from Fernie Brewing Co!

Go outside and do whatever activity that makes you feel good, then come back home and crack open one of this delicious Diverge IPA.

LIFE IS GOOD IN THE MOUNTAINS!!!

A summer IPA that’s fruity, hoppy, and hazy. What more could you want?
With whole cone hops in the mash and a special yeast designed to increase the Thiols, this brew features guava, passionfruit and mango flavours.

Day of the Shred, Sheepdog Brewing

You know we had to have a local beer in here!  Day of the Shred has become the de facto summer beer from Sheepdog Brewing.  With an infusion of lime, corn, and sea salt, this beer takes after a Margarita, while being a bit more inconspicuous when having one on the trail.  Sheepdog also celebrated their fifth birthday earlier this month!  We’re stoked to see them thriving and look forward to many more years supporting each other, both at UnWined and at the Taproom!

Hibiscus Rosehip Cream Ale, Good Mood Brewing

Tart, fruity and smooth are just a few adjectives to describe this colorful cream ale that bursts with aromas and flavour.

It embodies the essence of an untamed wilderness, nostalgia, and the liquid embodiment of a beloved combination of botanical infusions. Best enjoyed after a day soaking in all the tantalizing benefits of being outdoors.

Iceberg, Quidi Vidi Brewery

The Quidi Vidi Brewery in St. Johns, Newfoundland makes this delightful light beer, 4.5%, which they have appropriately named “Iceberg”.  The beer is made from 20,000 year old iceberg water!  No Minerals!  Some of the purest water on the planet.  The brewery actually employs people to hunt for and harvest the icebergs.  The beer has a clean refreshing taste and crisp finish without compromising flavour.  It pairs well with burgers, spicy foods, chicken, and salads.

Devil’s Row, Valley Brewing

Back in March of last year when I first took over the beer club I used that as an opportunity to feature some of my favourite beers.  In that selection I had to make the call of choosing to feature my second favourite beer from Valley Brewing, not wanting to double up on coffee beers in one month.  Well the time for favourites is back and this time I’m featuring my number one.  Devil’s Row Coffee Lager, crisp and light as a lager should be, but with a serious kick of coffee.  At 3.8% this is mellow enough to enjoy mid morning-late afternoon to enjoy more of a buzz from caffeine than alcohol.

I cant recommend a visit to Drumheller and Valley Brewing enough, its become an annual getaway for my partner and I.
