This Macon Chaintre is lovely and bright in the glass, with a fresh, floral bouquet that leads to citrus fruits on the palate and a fine, mineral tinged finish. Great value and a true crowd pleaser for Burgundy fans thanks to its structure and finesse.
In 2013 the established Co-operatives of Julienas and Macon-Chaintré united to form one company providing winemaking facilities for 169 winegrowers from across Southern Burgundy.
Grown on the limestone / clay soils of the Mâcon-Villages appellation, this Mâcon-Chaintré is harvested by hand and machine. The fruit is immediately pressed on arrival at the cellar before fermenting at a low 15 degrees to help retain delicacy. The wine is then matured on the lees for 12 months to give the wine finesse and texture.
