
Bock is the base style of this beer, which is a strong dark lager style. Rauchbier is what makes this one beer club worthy, the malt is smoked, giving a deep smoky flavour profile. This is done by the breweries own malting house, where germinated barley (green malt) is dried in a kiln heated by a beechwood fire. Schlenkerla is one of just two breweries in Germany which has the facilities to undergo this traditional method.
